It is possible to purify water by following the following steps: -
Screening:
The water coming from rivers and lakes passes through a sieve while entering the water treatment plant, this process helps remove large pollutants such as: -
•the plants.
•the wood.
Fish.
• Stones.
Coagulation:
This process involves adding alum or chemicals to form tiny particles that attract the dirty particles.
Precipitation:
The water and small particles move to the sedimentation basin, and as the water settles, the particles settle to the bottom and remain until they are removed.
* Cleansing :
At this stage, the chlorine and any chemical disinfectant are killed.
